The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has denied registering Omoni Oboli‘s controversial film, Okafor’s Law in 2014 as alleged by the filmmaker’s legal team.
You will recall that Oboli’s lawyer had previously tendered a “receipt” of payment for the film dated September 11, 2014, however, a Senior Censors Officer at the board today stated that a film with the same title cannot be licenced twice.
According to the key witness, Mrs Obasi, FilmOne Distribution registered the film on March 21, 2017. She said before that could be done, it is standard procedure for the NFVCB to conduct a search in their database of the title to ascertain whether such name had been previously registered.
<p>Mrs Obasi made this known earlier today at the resumption of hearing of the copyright violation and script theft case between Omoni Oboli, her Dioni Visions and Raconteur Productions. At the continued Federal High Court sitting before Hon.
